“When You Only Got 100 Years to Live”

“15 there’s still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
15, there’s never a wish better than this
When you only got 100 years to live”

“100 Years” lyrics by John Ondrasick – Music Video performed by Five for Fighting

Callie turned 15 yesterday. Seriously…how can this be? My baby is growing up and into a beautiful young lady! It honestly seems like only yesterday that I was sitting in the rocking chair cherishing every moment I had with her, knowing she was the last baby I would rock until I was a grandma. I didn’t care what didn’t get done, I was going to TRY to savor every second I had with this precious little life. A life that I had intensely prayed for due to experiencing a miscarriage the year before. I worried EVERY SINGLE DAY about her while I was pregnant. She wasn’t a mover and a shaker like Taylor was. I would have to poke my belly just to make sure she was ok in there.  God has entrusted me with four really wonderful kids and I will do whatever it takes to help them become the people He wants and expects of them! I know He has a plan and a purpose for you, Cal! Keep searching and face the fears that get in the way of grabbing what you want in life! Once you get past that fear, it’s a piece of cake!

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY, CALGIRL!!

Homecoming 2012

We had a small gathering for supper last night. Callie wanted Cheesy Potato Soup in a bread bowl for the meal. I will share my recipe on a different posting because it’s really easy and really yummy and one of our favorites!

If you would ever have the opportunity to look back at all the pictures I’ve taken over the past 26 years, you would find each girl sitting in the very same spot as Callie is to open birthday presents. I’m not sure how and why this was the chosen spot.

She had to close her eyes because the next gift was too large to find enough wrapping paper for:

Her choice of  Pillow Pet for the upcoming bus trips during basketball season. She chose the dinosaur. Everyone thought Herbie Husker was just a little weird-looking. 🙂

Looking through Callie’s baby book with Grandma Barb, me, Taylor and Jamie. Thanks for taking the picture, Jenna!

Happy Birthday, Cal! I love you – mom
